THE EVOLUTION OF EVONIK'S OIL ADDITIVES BUSINESS LINE — RELYING ON STRENGTH BUILT BY EXPERIENCE

A collaborative partner in the lubricant additives industry

The world has witnessed many changes since 1907, the year in which Oil Additives at Evonik, formerly Röhm + Haas, was originally founded. Those changes were often the catalyst for chemical breakthroughs and innovations, developed by dedicated men and women along the Evonik timeline. Using their collective knowledge and experience, they created lubricant additives that enabled systems and equipment to perform at enhanced levels of productivity and efficiency.

At critical moments, Evonik acquired patents, introduced inventions and initiated products, such as VISCOPLEX® oil additives in 1953, for engine and hydraulic oils. The company continued to expand with mergers and acquisitions, growing to become what it is today — a leader in the drive toward efficiency, working collaboratively to deliver effective viscometric solutions to meet today’s global demands.
